SWOOD by EFICAD – Woodworking and furniture CAD/CAM software integrated within SOLIDWORKS – and HETTICH – one of the world’s largest manufacturers of furniture fittings – are pleased to announce that we have successfully worked on a new development for a link between the Hettich hardware product database and the SWOOD libraries and would now like to proudly present it.

Through this strategic partnership, SWOOD and Hettich provide a tool that has been developed to allow SWOOD users to access all Hettich products within their libraries and to update them at any time. SWOOD users can now take advantage of the ease and simplicity of the tool to use Hettich products within their woodworking and furniture 3D models.

Automation becomes more and more critical within furniture industry. Our new tool will allow to get rid of the manual creation of hardware library and be sure to keep SWOOD users up to date with the latest innovative products from Hettich.  The smart components created automatically (SWOODBox) will not only include the 3D model of the hardware for the visualization but also all the necessary machining (holes, cuts etc.) on surrounding panels, making the 3D model ready for production.

SWOOD and HETTICH will continue to work together and collaborate to go even further on the automation of creation of smart components for 3D design within SOLIDWORKS and improve the user experience.
