Nest 3D models to optimize raw material. SWOOD Nesting allows you to accurately nest your project's parts onto wood panels to manufacture and optimise the output with several strategies.

Combine multiple projects and materials

Add multiple source files, from simple cabinets to complex free-form shapes, with different thicknesses and materials to optimize Nesting sheets.

Grain matching on panels

Linked to SWOOD Design, SWOOD Nesting can match the grain direction of furniture front panels for aesthetic finishing. These front panels are then grouped as a single entity, thus making it possible to nest them together (front grouping).

Optimal holding

With these features, you can optimize the holding process of a nesting board:

Cutting order (from the smallest to the largest part) ;
Optimized trajectories to let material as long as possible on the part ;
Automatic bridges/staples insertion between nested parts;
Avoid small parts close to board edges.

Manual nesting

With SWOOD Nesting, it is possible to:

Modify the position of automatically defined parts;
Add trajectory jumps (bridges);
Modify the machining order of parts;
Modify the entry point (lead in/lead out);
Modify numbering (labels).

Reporting

SWOOD Nesting enables the automatic creation of workshop documents with nesting sheet lists, programs, bills of material and labels in different formats such as : .HTML, .EXCEL, .PDF, and other related formats.

With the nesting module, replace the need to saw the panels before starting the machining of the parts. All contouring and 3-axis machining is done directly on the CNC nesting machine.
